Like a rolling stone is the blog of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) secretary general Renato M. Reyes, Jr. The blog was originally intended to be light reading, focusing on the funny and even ridiculous moments in activist life. Unfortunately (or fortunately), more serious issues could not be evaded. They had to be tackled. The blog thus took a more serious turn from the time it was obvious Gloria Macapagal Arroyo would provide no rest for the weary, no respite for the oppressed.

Meanwhile, whenever possible, the author will try to write on other stuff like music, pop-culture, the occasional tele-novela, and yes, the funny and ridiculous things that happen in activist life.

The author works full-time for Bayan (not Bayan Muna, as he so often has to explain). He has been with the organization for since GMA came into power in 2001. He was also the founding chair of the youth group Anakbayan in 1998 and was the national secretary general of LFS from 1997-1999.

He plays the guitar, piano and the blues-harp and has written songs from the time he was in college.

He hopes his two-year old kid, aptly named Dylan, would also take an interest in music. Dylan can now say the words “guitar” and “piano” and can blow and draw on a blues-harp. Not bad.
